Résumé
Urban Health in Africa provides a comprehensive exploration of how rapid urbanization across the African continent shapes health outcomes, socio-economic wellbeing, and sustainability. Bringing together scholars and case study contributors, the volume examines critical challengesfrom informal settlements, air pollution, WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene), transportation, conflict, and housing to mental and reproductive healthin a variety of urban contexts. Through multidisciplinary essays and locally rooted case studies (including digital health in Nairobi, air quality in Kampala, mental health in Yaound, and educational determinants in Arusha), the book identifies innovative solutions, policy levers, and data-driven approaches to improve urban health and prosperity.
