Abstract
This paper examines the association between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and mental disorders among adolescents in Kenya, Indonesia, and Vietnam, using nationally representative data from NAMHS. It finds high prevalence of ACEs and significant associations with the occurrence of mental disorders, emphasizing the importance of prevention and targeted interventions addressing early adversity to reduce the burden of adolescent mental illness.
