This blog discusses the growing burden of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) such as diabetes and hypertension in sub-Saharan Africa and the critical shortage of trained healthcare professionals to manage these conditions effectively. It highlights the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) programs efforts to build the capacity of medical training institutions and faculty across Kenya to improve CMD prevention and clinical management, ultimately aiming to strengthen health workforce competencies and improve patient outcomes.
