Abstract
This blog describes an APHRC-IUCEA initiative that co-created a gender-lensed supervision and mentorship framework to address systemic challenges faced by women in postgraduate STEM education across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi. It highlights disparities in representation, mentorship gaps, and institutional barriers that women researchers encounter and explains how the framework integrates gender-sensitive practices, capacity building for supervisors, and governance structures to foster inclusive academic environments where women can thrive and advance in research leadership
