This article describes the evolution and impact of APHRC's Virtual Learning Academy (VLA), a platform developed to provide flexible, accessible training across sub-Saharan Africa. Transitioning from in-person courses, the VLA now offers bilingual, self-paced, and hybrid courses on topics like scientific writing, alongside thriving online communities of practice. With plans for expansions including more African languages and a mobile app the VLA is presented as a cornerstone for scalable and inclusive capacity strengthening.
