dc.description.abstract | Persons with disabilities and older people comprise a significant proportion of the world’s population, and they often
face social and economic exclusion; including inequitable access to WASH services.
According to the 2019 census1, approximately 2.2% of the population in Kenya have some form of disability, and
approximately 6% of the total population were aged at least 60 years. The government of Kenya recognises that
inclusion of disability is a prerequisite to the achievement of national and international goals and that older persons
are entitled to care and protection from the State. | en_US |
