| dc.description.abstract | This webinar report summarizes discussions from the second session of the Safeguarding Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) in the Current Funding Crisis series, held on October 22, 2025. The session brought together policymakers, researchers, and civil society leaders to examine the impact of severe global health funding cuts on ASRH programs in low- and middle-income countries. Panelists from Argentina, Malawi, Nepal, and Benin shared country experiences, highlighting disruptions in essential services such as contraception, youth-friendly care, supply chains, and community-based interventions. The discussions underscored the erosion of previous gains due to weakened systems, political shifts, and reduced external support.
Despite the crisis, speakers emphasized strategies to safeguard ASRH progress, including domestic resource mobilization, multisectoral collaboration, stronger political advocacy, integration of ASRH into existing health and social systems, and prioritization of critical services. The session reinforced that sustained investment in adolescents—viewed as agents of change—is essential for advancing health, rights, and long-term development. | en_US |
