Purpose of Research: Investing in parents and children during the critical period between birth and five years can have long-lasting benefits in the child’s life (1). Currently in five African countries, the Moments That Matter® (MTM) Program is an early childhood development (ECD) program partnership of Episcopal Relief & Development aimed at empowering Primary Caregivers through a rural, community-led, integrated nurturing care approach engaging the most vulnerable families with children 0-3 years old. The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) conducted implementation research during a 30-month program period on MTM in Kenya and Zambia – where it is implemented by Episcopal Relief & Development with its long-term partners, the Zambia Anglican Council Outreach Programs (ZACOP) and the Anglican Church of Kenya Development Services – Nyanza (ADS-Nyanza) (2).en_US
