Bullying Victimisation and Perpetration and the Association with Mental Disorders Among Adolescents in Kenya, Indonesia, And Vietnam: Findings from the National Adolescent Mental Health Surveys

Abstract

This study reports nationally representative estimates of bullying victimisation and perpetration among adolescents aged 10-17 years in Kenya, Indonesia, and Vietnam and examines the association between bullying involvement and mental disorders. Findings reveal significant prevalence differences between countries and show that adolescents who experienced bullying victimisation or perpetration are more likely to meet diagnostic criteria for mental disorders, indicating bullying as a key factor influencing adolescent mental health.
