Abstract

This chapter examines sexual and reproductive health (SRH) among adolescents and young people (ages ~10-24) in urban African contexts. It explores key risk factors such as early sexual initiation, unintended pregnancies, low contraceptive use, HIV/STI exposure, and gender norms and assesses the availability and uptake of youth-friendly SRH services. Using urban data and possibly qualitative insights, the authors analyze disparities in SRH outcomes and offer recommendations to improve accessibility, equity, and policy integration in rapidly urbanizing settings.
